Transport
We provide Community Transport for people in our community who don’t have access to regular transport and meet the eligibility criteria. This service is available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over the age of 50. We can also help people under these ages, who are transport disadvantaged.
Our Community Transport is safe, flexible and culturally respectful to support your health, wellbeing and connection to community. Whether it’s getting to the doctor, doing your shopping, or attending a community event; we’re here to help you get there.

Elders
At the Blue Mountains Aboriginal Culture & Resource Centre (BMACRC), our Elders Support Program offers a wide range of culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders aged 50 and over living in the Blue Mountains.
We assist Elders with My Aged Care registration and navigation, ensuring access to in-home support such as domestic cleaning, shopping, social visits, activities, and Allied Health services.
Our team provides weekly wellbeing calls to offer social connection and identify emerging needs. We also support Elders through advocacy and referrals, helping them access the care and services they deserve.
Twice a month, ACRC hosts Elders lunches and yarn-ups, offering a welcoming space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders to share a cuppa, enjoy morning tea or lunch, and connect through conversation and chosen activities.
We also organise day trips and excursions, including multi-day getaways to places like Canberra, Gerringong, and events such as the Bathurst Show and Elders Olympics.
Beyond social connection, our Elders play a vital role in mentoring youth, sharing cultural knowledge, and contributing to community growth and Closing the Gap initiatives in the Blue Mountains - graciously leading with wisdom and intent.
